Moeen Ali has been dropped by England for the second Ashes Test - with Worcestershire seamer Josh Tongue his surprise replacement.
The 64-Test veteran came out of retirement for the Ashes after a call to arms from skipper Ben Stokes following an injury to first-choice spinner Jack Leach.
But he took just three wickets for the concession of 194 runs across Australia's two innings in England's defeat, and struggled with a wound on his finger.
Leicestershire's teenage spinner Rehan Ahmed, who enjoyed a successful start to his Test career in Pakistan over the winter, was called into the squad as back-up for Moeen.
But it is Tongue who has got the nod to replace him, with England opting to go without a frontline spin bowler for the second Test at the Home of Cricket.
Tongue made his Test debut in the one-off clash against Ireland in the Ashes curtain-raiser, taking 5-66 in the second innings to get himself on the Lord's honours board.

Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum's bold choice will likely see Yorkshire's Joe Root given more overs for his occasional off-spin, while the selection of an extra seam bowler will take the pressure off the captain's need to bowl with a troublesome knee problem.
Mark Wood was the other option for England, with his pace considered a key point of difference prior to the series, but his wait to feature against the old enemy goes on.
