It is a relatively quiet moment in the often relentless world of football, but the transfer market is gradually hotting up as clubs zero in on their targets for the summer.
Bristol City were out of the gates fast by announcing the signing of Mark Sykes from Oxford United earlier this month, and more deals are sure to follow for Nigel Pearson and the Robins in the coming weeks and months.
Their Championship rivals, meanwhile, are making moves too, with West Bromwich Albion making a splash on Thursday with the signing of Reading star John Swift.
Here is a roundup of the latest Championship transfer talk on May 27...
England goalkeeper back in Premier League
Sam Johnstone's time at West Brom is coming to an end with the England international goalkeeper on the verge of joining a Premier League club.
Widespread reports suggest Johnstone is heading to Patrick Vieira's Crystal Palace as his deal with the Baggies expires.
The 29-year-old, a product of Manchester United's academy, has been at The Hawthorns since 2018, but he will be eager to add to his haul of three England caps and he will get a chance to advance his reputation with Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate at Selhurst Park.
Blades defender wanted in Greece
Sheffield United defender George Baldock has chosen to represent Greece in international football and is set to make his debut next month, and reports suggest he could make a permanent move abroad this summer.
Baldock is eligible to play for Greece through his grandmother, and Inside Futbol reports Super League champions Olympiacos are interested in the right-back.
The 29-year-old was a key player in the Blades' promotion to the Premier League in 2019 and he has made more than 150 appearances for the club, but he could be tempted away by the possibility of Champions League Football.
Host of clubs after Derby star
Derby County will not be playing in the Championship next season, but their captain Tom Lawrence reportedly has admirers in both the second tier and the Premier League this summer.
The 28-year-old Wales international is out of contract at Pride Park next month and TeamTalk reports Championship clubs Watford, West Brom and Nottingham Forest are interested.
The report adds Southampton, Leeds United and newly-promoted Bournemouth also have the playmaker in their sights.
Lawrence scored 37 goals in 185 appearances for the Rams, including 11 in the Championship this season.
Luton eye Leicester starlet
Leicester City prospect Callum Wright enjoyed superb loan spell with League One Cheltenham Town this season, scoring nine goals to help Michael Duff's side finish comfortably clear of the relegation mix.
Interest in the attacking midfielder is inevitable as a result, with Portsmouth already linked with the 22-year-old, who has had his contract extended by his parent club.
And Gloucestershire Live reports Luton Town are also interested in signing Wright, who could be sold or loaned this summer.
