Ukraine claim they are in negotiations to play a friendly against England before they face Scotland in a World Cup showdown.
The war-torn nation will soon begin training with their domestic players in Slovenia ahead of the June 1 semi-final, play-off in Glasgow.
This week they announced they want to base themselves at the FA's St George's Park training HQ to prepare for playing Scotland and they were trying to arrange a friendly in the UK.
And they have now revealed they have asked the Three Lions - who defeated them in the quarter finals at Euro 2020 - to play a special match to raise funds for the Ukrainian public impacted by the ongoing Russian invasion.
Ukrainian FA commercial director Artem Ryabov said: "I contacted the English Football Association with a proposal to play a friendly match before the play-off with Scotland.
"We are currently in the early stages of negotiations.
"Although the English have said they are not going to play any friendly matches, we understand they are now considering it by treating this proposal as a special case.
"The game would be used to raise funds to help Ukrainians affected by the war. The UK has been very supportive of us throughout the conflict.
"I hope we can arrange it for the week before we go to play Scotland."
England have four Nations League games in June against Hungary home and and away as well as Italy and Germany.
Meanwhile, Dynamo Kyiv have caved in and allowed their players to join the training camp next month in Ljubljana.
The country's biggest club refused to allow 12 of their players to join up with them at the training camp because they wanted them to play in friendlies instead.
But after an outcry, Dynamo has backed down. Club president Igor Surkis said: "Dynamo players picked for the national team will arrive in Slovenia on May 3."
