Eddie Jones' England squad for the 2022 Six Nations has been announced with George Ford a notable absence for the Red Rose at fly-half.
Bath's Orlando Bailey is in the squad for the first time in place of Ford alongside six other potential debutants: Orlando Bailey, Alfie Barbeary, Ollie Chessum, Tommy Freeman, Ollie Hassell-Collins and Luke Northmore.
Three Sale players are in the mix with England stalwart being joined by Bevan Rodd and Raffi Quirke following their exciting England debuts back in the autumn internationals.
Captain Owen Farrell is back in the squad after injury while Ben Youngs is in line to beat Jason Leonard's record to become England's most capped player during the tournament, he is currently two caps behind Jason Leonard who has 114.
Eddie Jones told the England website: "Selecting this squad has been a difficult task, we’ve got plenty of good young players coming through and some of our more experienced are rediscovering their best form.
"We think this 36 for the first training week reflects a good balance of that experience and up-and-coming talent. In Brighton we’ll focus on getting the fundamentals of our game in play right and developing the cohesion of the team.
"The Six Nations is going to be the most competitive we’ve ever seen. All the countries performed well in the autumn, so we need to be at our best and improve with every game."
The squad meets up in Brighton on Monday 24 January for the pre-tournament training camp with the first game being played against Scotland on Saturday 5 February. After the Scotland game, England will travel to to play Italy on Sunday 13 February.
They will then return to Twickenham for home games against Wales (Saturday 26 February) and Ireland (Saturday 12 March), before finishing the campaign in Paris against France on Saturday 19 March.
