Engineering business opens new Aberdeen office

Oil and gas engineering firm Quanta has opened a new office in Aberdeen and appointed a regional director for Scotland.

Located in H1, Hill of Rubislaw, the site will provide a new regional base for the company to service its clients across the north east.

The office will be headed up by Scott Douglas, who will be responsible for supporting key Aberdeen clients and driving growth in the renewable and traditional energy sectors.

Before joining Quanta, he was business development manager for Stork, with lead responsibility for supporting oil and gas operators across the UK Continental Shelf. Prior to that, Douglas worked in several senior business development roles at Semco Maritime, Sparrow Group and Cape.

The company, which was formerly known as Fabricom Offshore Services, recently attracted multi-million pound private equity investment and scooped several seven-figure deals to support engineering projects across the North Sea.

Douglas said: “This is an exciting time for the energy sector with ever increasing focus on the UK’s energy security and the move to cleaner, greener power.

“Quanta is at the very heart of delivering this for the sector and I am very much looking forward to playing my part in supporting our clients through various industry challenges.”

Chief executive Nick Oates, said: “The level for demand for our services in Aberdeen continues to increase, making this the ideal time to move into new premises and appoint Scott as our new regional director for Scotland.

“This investment in Aberdeen highlights our continued commitment to our clients and the sector overall and further enhances our ability to respond rapidly to our clients’ needs.”
