Cristiano Ronaldo's 'siu' celebration is iconic. Whenever he scored there was an expectation from the crowd that he would run to the corner flag, jump up high in the air while turning and let out a roaring shout which would be echoed by the thousands in attendance.
However, it wasn't just limited to fans in the stadium. Other players would play homage to the celebration and not just in football, but in other sports as well; thousands of people would also mimic Ronaldo in their everyday lives.
So when Ronaldo scored the 700th goal of his career against Everton, many expected that he would bring out his iconic celebration to mark the occasion. Instead, he marked it with a new one.

Supposedly mimicking how the Portuguese forward sleeps when traveling with the squad, he debuted the 'Sleeping man' and he was joined in this by Antony. This now seems to be his go-to celebration as well, as he did the same when he scored Manchester United's third against Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League.
The celebration seems to be catching on as well, with multiple sporting stars copying it. And the latest is 16-year-old wonderkid Endrick who is reportedly a target for United in the future (as Brazillians are not allowed to move outside of their homeland until the age of 18).
Endrick only recently became a member of the first-team squad, making his debut against Coritiba. A few weeks later he would score a brace to mark his first professional goals and make him the youngest-ever goalscorer in the history of the Brazillian league.
On Wednesday night he scored again against Fortaleza in a 4-0 thrashing, helping Palmeiras clinch the league title. And to celebrate he paid homage to one his sporting heroes Ronaldo by using his celebration.
With nearly every top club in Europe interested in Endrick, it seems highly unlikely that United will be able to sign the young Brazillian who has been dubbed the 'next Pele'. Real Madrid are reportedly already readying a bid to test Palmeiras' resolve in the summer of 2023.
In an interview with Marca, he explained both his love of Madrid and Ronaldo: “It is a club that I have great affection for Cristiano Ronaldo, whom I always followed, with the four Champions Leagues he won there.
“I have a great affection for Real for Cristiano, although I have also looked for things in their history and they are a very good team. It is very gratifying for me to know that they are watching me and witnessing my games.”
