People have had their say after the boss of Wetherspoon warned pints could rise to £10.
Yesterday, Tim Martin warned the price of pints could potentially reach double digits after he was asked about the cost of living crisis and rising prices. Martin, who set up his first pub in 1979, said the cost of a pint of beer would 'quite probably' reach £8 if things continue as they are.
During his chat with Andrew Marr on LBC radio, Martin said 'there are no limits' after being asked about the possibility of pints costing as much as £10.
Tim told the journalist: "There are certainly some pubs that do that, and it’s gone up more than you would imagine.

"Around the country – I go around the country visiting pubs and talking to our pub managers – whereas it’s not a fiver in our pubs, it’s a fiver in a lot of pubs from Penzance to Wick at the moment.
"So yeah, the price has gone up a hell of a lot."
The cost of brewing, alongside everything else, has risen due to higher energy costs, inflation, and supply chain issues.
The reaction from punters to Martin's warning has not been positive, as many said it would 'be the end of pubs'. On Facebook Edward Kenny added: "It's too expensive as it is now."
Sue Lisney said: "And this, Ladies and Gents, is why all our good pubs are shutting down."
Allan Morris, who said he 'stopped being a regular at a pub 20 years ago' said it 'isn't a good milestone' to reach. He added: "For 20 years before that I was [a regular]. They have a role in society, but it's a rich person's sport these days."
Christine McKenna said: "Well, drinking at home it is."
Kelly Fitz said: "Then all pubs will close. Nobody in their right mind would pay that much for pint so they will lose too much custom."
Roy Tandy said: "How much longer can this inept Government allow this.blatant profiteering to continue. Prices are outpacing inflation purely to enable companies to recoup losses mafe during the pandemic, and this useless Government is allowing it."
Debra Kirwan said: "Good luck with that. £8 a glass of wine is commonplace already and then they wonder why people don't go to pubs anymore."
