Encrochat dealer 'Paleradio' sent price lists for AK47s and Glocks
A major drug dealer planned to sell a revolver to his associates and sent “price lists” of guns that included AK47s and sub machine guns.
Paul Mangan, of Huyton, also used his Encrochat handle ‘Paleradio’ to order kilograms of cocaine, heroin and cannabis to distribute to low level dealers throughout Liverpool.
Yet Liverpool Crown Court heard Mangan lived a modest lifestyle in a two bedroom house despite playing a major role in the supply of drugs in parts of the city.
The 27-year-old had denied conspiracy to transfer and possess prohibited weapons, as well as conspiracy to supply cocaine, heroin and cannabis, but was found guilty by a jury last month.
The court heard Mangan used Encrochat to message several accounts with price lists for a variety of different guns that could potentially be sourced, including sub-machine guns, rifles and Glock pistols.

Girl, 3, choked to death in Asda as family shopped for camping trip
An off duty paramedic desperately tried to save a little girl who was choking in a supermarket in what has been described as a "tragic accident".
Poppy Reardon, 3, was at Asda on Ormskirk Road, Aintree, on August 10, 2021 with her parents, who were shopping for a camping trip the following day.
An inquest into the three-year-old's death was held at Bootle Town Hall on Thursday where it was heard the young girl had "choked on a foreign object" she had "bitten off" her father's hooded top.
It was heard that Poppy was being carried by her father when she began biting the plastic toggle, also known as a cord lock.
Coroner Julie Goulding said Poppy had "accidently asphyxiated when she choked on the toggle she'd bitten off a top worn by her father."
She went on to say that despite the efforts of paramedics, which continued on her arrival to the hospital, it "was not possible to resuscitate her".
