And she recently took to Instagram to explain how she is in the process of potty training her son.
She said: "Day 9 in the life of trying to potty train a child with special needs. This was probably one is the most mentally challenging things iv ever experienced. Lots asking me for tips. I mean there is possibly 1 billion handouts everyone is willing to give you.
And she added: "The biggest step for us was Harry’s school. We needed support, he needs support and they stepped up straight away to be our person. Many passed the book but not our mrs duff , Rachel & Nicole. God I thank you every day in my heart . We scheduled a whole 9 days of in house 20 mins toilet trips.
"We watched his every move to see what where his strengths and what was his weaknesses. There is no straight answer to this. It really is finding your way around your child’s needs. Some put holes in nappies to help, there an app called see me go potty. I’m probably of no help to anyone as it really felt like I was pissing up against the wind, excuse the pun. We made little progress and we will build on it bc one things for sure I might cry my way through this journey at every hurdle but I won’t give up."
And friends and followers of Erin were full of praise.
One social media user said: "Erin. You are incredible and we love you. I cannot imagine how hard it is. I want you to treat yourself and be kind to yourself during this. Your love and patience with your child is EVERYTHING."
While another said: "You’re such an incredible inspiration."
And another added: "I know this doesn’t really help the situation at hand, but you really are a wonderful wonderful mother."
