Emmerdale viewers slam Naomi as soap draws complaints about 'too many Southerners'

Emmerdale fans have had plenty to moan about during this evening's episode, which has drawn a number of complaints about the characters. People were grumbling about Naomi, who has proved a very unpopular character lately.

But, bizarrely, the soap also drew complaints about the regional make-up of its characters. One viewer complained that there are "too many southerners" in the Yorkshire set soap.

In tonight's episode, Charles was awake from his induced coma and was able to tell Manpreet and Ethan what had really happened on the night that he was found collapsed. And it was not Naomi's fault, much to Manpreet's shock.

Having already gotten her arrested for assault, Manpreet was left with her tail between her legs and forced to apologise to both the police and Naomi for her mistake. Though Naomi was prepared to sit down and hear Manpreet out, she still her usual grumpy self and told Manpreet that it would "take a miracle" for Charles to forgive her for her mistake.

And Emmerdale fans have well and truly had enough of her, now. @pam_debeauvoir said: "I'll pray for a miracle...so that Naomi goes back from whence she came".

@amz07 said: "Don’t see the point of this Naomi character and the adoption story. Just why?" @AsenDance2 said: "Do one Naomi". And @SafricanAnimal said: "Who the f*** brought these 2 in the show...."

Meanwhile, one fan compared Emmerdale to Eastenders - as they did not feel that it was Yorkshire enough. @BritishBC said: "#Emmerdale is more like EastEnders. Far too many southerners in it. I’m a southerner and it’s even annoying me. It’s a northern soap, more northern characters, please!"
