Emmerdale viewers were left glued to their seats during the latest episode of the ITV soap as Vinny found himself winning a high-stakes game of poker.
During Friday's episode of the show, viewers saw Vinny brutally attacked and robbed after a game of poker with Jimmy King in The Woolpack which saw things take a drastic turn.
Vinny has been using gambling as a way of coping following the death of his wife, Liv, who became a victim of the infamous storm which wreaked havoc across the village.
He walked away from the game with a win which enabled him to put the heartbreak he faced to the back of his head for the time being but he was eventually caught up in the heat of the moment.
Vinny and Mack decided to play a private game with Darren – a rich friend of Mack who initially set the stakes at £500, believing that neither of the lads would be interested.
As Vinny started to get worried, Mack commented: "Vinny it's not like you don't have the money," but things hit an all-time low as Vinny lost before suggesting another game for a fortune of £1k.
After his misfortune, Mandy's son managed to win back his cash before Darren offered to put £10k on the table – with Vinny also throwing in the same amount.
Following the tense games, an angry Darren paid him a visit to get his money back, leaving Vinny lying on the floor with his lifeless body covered in his own blood following a brutal attack.
Shortly after the attack, fans took to Twitter to share their shock with one writing: "Vinny doesn't deserve to get beaten up #Emmerdale.
"Vinny has been beaten up. Flashbacks to when paul beat him up a few years ago #Emmerdale," said a second.
A third added: "Vinny's been duffed up, oh dear #Emmerdale."
However, some fear that Vinny's gambling is getting slightly out of hand and may see history repeating itself as he became the victim of the attack.
Mandy believes that Vinny may turn out like his dad, Paul, who also had issues with gambling.
"I'm nothing like him, do you see me going in and out of bookies? No, you don't," fumed Vinny before Mandy responded: "It doesn't matter if you buy cheap cider or expensive wine – if you keep drinking it, you get drunk."
"Oh so I'm an addict now am I?" asked Vinny before his mum explained it's a quick slope to go down.
