Emmerdale's Bob was left feeling low at the end of tonight's episode when he realised just how ill his daughter could be.
Cathy Hope learnt about how her life could be impacted by her ongoing illness. The character, played by 16-year-old actress Gabrielle Dowling, has been spiralling out of control in recent weeks. Wendy and Manpreet visited her dad Bob, played by Tony Audenshaw, and told him believe she has premenstrual dysphoric disorder, which could last for half of her life.
Manpreet told Bob: "The thing is Bob there is no cure. She could suffer with this right up to menopause." "Does that mean Cathy could live with this for half her life?," Bob said. "It is a possibility, yes," added Manpreet.

But the three of them didn't realise Cathy had been listened to the whole conversation. After finding out what happened Cathy told Bob she needed "some time to think".
She said: "I think Wendy and Manpreet are right." Bob added: "OK well we will get you to a specialist to make sure. I know things feel bleak right now and I don't know how you feel but it's not that I don't care."
The episode ended with Bob breaking down and he was reduced to tears. Wendy comforted him and rested her head on his shoulders.
Bob said: "I am so far out of my depth here, I don't know what to do." While the story line has been applauded by many as Emmerdale highlight premenstrual dysphoric disorder, others couldn't help but point out their distaste for Tony Audenshaw's performance.
@JohnWil32627755 added: "@emmerdale please get some good story lines or I'm watching bbc1 after all these year your story lines are s*** seriously."

Another watcher added: "Bob the cry acting literally was s*** - no tears, no gulping not even a trickle of snot #Emmerdale."
