Emmerdale viewers refuse to believe Caleb and Nicky twist as they 'work out' alternative theory

Emmerdale fans were in for a shock after the latest episode revealed that Nick was Caleb's son, but many refused to believe it.

Nicky was seen following both Caleb and Leyla, but was soon caught and revealed to be Caleb's son. This twist proved a shock to viewers but more was yet to come.

Caleb and Nick talked a while, revealing they had a secret plan, although its still unclear what this is. Later on in the episode, further twists were to come as Caleb and Nick walked through a graveyard, standing in front of a slab.

The camera switched to show the front of the slab, revealing the grave to belong to none other than Frank Tate, while Caleb was revealed to be Tate's son.

Some fans thought this might be misdirection and in fact later prove not to be true after all.

Basically, viewers think the plot twist was so crazy that they literally refuse to believe it.

Instead they came up with alternative theories as to why it may all be misdirection

@TVmusings22 said: "So you’re telling me Faith and Frank had an affair! Jane really has lost the plot! I don’t believe that is Caleb even Faith’s son or is that b******s."

@griannedoherty3 thought this meant Caleb might not be who he said he was. They said: "So either Faith totally got with Frank Tate at some point or Caleb's NOT actually who he claims to be after all?

"But how does he know so much about the first meeting with Cain? Unless Faith's real lovechild is also involved somehow? Anyone else slightly confused?"

@neilboyd171171 thought there might even be further twists in store: "bet someone else turns up saying he's Caleb and Cain ends up braying the truth out false Caleb."
