Emmerdale viewers' 'cringe' Mandy plea to writers after Matty discovery

Emmerdale viewers have begged show bosses to "evolve" Mandy’s "cringe" character as Matty makes a discovery.

Last night the village was full of drama as Kyle visited the barn where he shot Al Chapman and made a tribute for his victim.

Meanwhile Mandy was concerned her son Vinny was starting to develop a gambling problem just like his dad. During tonight’s episode of the ITV soap things didn’t seem to calm down in the village as Matty found the "memorial" Kyle made as he was standing in the barn when Kyle arrived.

Mack looked concerned as the youngster started laying even more rocks down at the crime scene. He rushed straight home to Moira and Amy and admitted that it "freaked him out" and insisted that it wasn’t a good time to send Kyle back to school.

He said: "Listen, Kyle has had a bit of a moment today. I found him at the barn, he's fine I promise but he's been piling stones where it happened. I think it might be a memorial for Al. Freaked me out a bit to be honest, it was like he was in his own little world. I'm just worried if he got like that around other people...maybe now isn't the best time to send him back to school."

But Moira disagreed, arguing that keeping Kyle off school would just "draw more attention". Instead, she suggested that the family "keep an eye" on Kyle.

Meanwhile Mandy had problems of her own as she discovered Vinny had started gambling and she feared that her son would develop a problem.

Vinny admitted that playing poker was helping him forget about his dead wife Liv however Mandy insisted on helping him another way.

Vinny lashed out as Mandy continued to fuss over him and voiced her concerns that he was turning into his gambling addict dad Paul Ashdale.

However viewers were not pleased with Mandy’s "overbearing" storyline as they issued a plea to bossed to "evolve" her character.

@LunaLocoJewels tweeted: “You'd think the Mandy/Vinny dynamic would have evolved somewhat by now, but it's still as cringe as when they first arrived. She's overbearing with no concept of space and he just screams whenever he's upset at her, which is a lot of the time #Emmerdale.”
