Emmerdale viewers blast 'out of control' character who could be 'next Meena'

Emmerdale fans have blasted an "out of control" character who could be "the next Meena".

During tonight's episode, a fed-up April Windsor decked classmate Marshall after he played a cruel prank on her friend Arthur Thomas. Arthur recently came out as gay to his friends and family and was then publicly humiliated by Marshall, his crush.

A furious April confronted him at the café and after a heated argument, punched him in the face. The fight was witnessed by Nicola King who immediately called April's stepmum Rhona Goskirk.

Not only did the teen get in trouble for whacking Marshall but Rhona also found out April had gotten her bellybutton pierced which had become infected. Emmerdale fans have been shocked by April's rebellious streak and said she was on the road to becoming the soap's next villain.

Others were left unhappy a seemingly nice kid had turned "into a horrible teenager". Autumn complained: "Why do the Emmerdale writers have to keep making the nice children into horrible teenagers?!

"It’s nice to see April with more of a storyline, but not like this!"

PJ wrote on Twitter: "Aprils out of control! Got the makings of this year's Meena! Fantastic!!!"

Bradley Coombes commented: "So April has become this big rebel now."

Gary Enfield said: "A belly button piercing, blimey April you’re surprising us tonight."

And Paul Gibbons tweeted: "Decked him, whilst with an infection. F****** hell April."

Meanwhile, April's fight with Marshall and her bellybutton piercing has also caused a rift between her parents Marlon Dingle and Rhona. The latter was keen to blame Naomi Walters and tried to pass her off as a bad influence.

Marlon, however, was having none of it and told Rhona she had gone to far. Accusing him of siding with his kitchen assistant and not his wife, Rhona fumed: "I thought I meant more to you than that," before walking out.
