Emmerdale star teases new Al Chapman drama - and says 'watch out for Cain Dingle'

Emmerdale star Sally Dexter has teased something on the cards for Al Chapman, amid his romance with Chas Dingle.

Sally could be teasing the moment their affair finally comes to light, as she said "something was coming up" for the character.

Al is currently engaged to Kerry Wyatt with her hoping to press on with their wedding plans.

What she doesn't know though is that he's cheating on her with Chas, and is even planning on running away with her.

Spoilers for next week reveal Al and Chas plot to run away from the village, leaving behind their families - including Chas' husband Paddy.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror at the Inside Soap Awards, Faith Dingle actress Sally hinted she knew what was ahead but couldn't spill the beans.

Instead, she teased something was on the way, amid Al's secret with Chas coming under threat - while it was recently teased there could be "fireworks" if Cain Dingle finds out about Chas and Al.

Sally said: "Well Al, oh my goodness, there’s something coming up there. I'm not sure how much you know."

Perhaps she was referring to Aaron finding out or the forbidden couple's plan to flee the village, while there's also the fact Chas and Al have been blamed by Aaron for his sister Liv's death.

Sally also touched on the fact viewers should watch out for her on-screen son Cain, while again remaining coy over the circumstances.

She said: "Viewers should always be looking out for Cain. It's very important," before adding, referring to Cain and Faith making amends: "It's so wonderful they got back together."

Faith passed away in harrowing scenes this month before the big stunt week, and Sally revealed it was difficult to leave the show.

She told us: "It was like walking out on the family. It was like dying and leaving your family, but I know where they live!"

On the reaction from viewers to her incredible exit episode, Sally revealed it was an "honour" to portray something that matters to so many people.

She revealed: "It's been extraordinary. It's been much more than I could possibly imagine.

"It's just been an honour to do it. I have had so many people who have had parents or family or friends in that situation, and it's meant something to them. It really matters, it's a life and death situation."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV and ITV Hub, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
