Emmerdale star spills on 'dramatic' 50th anniversary episodes as 'so much happens'

Emmerdale is lining up deadly scenes later this year, and now Marlon Dingle actor Mark Charnock has confirmed he will be involved.

Not only that, but he detailed the scenes would be "special" and that fans are "in for a treat".

Few details have been confirmed, but bosses revealed a windstorm would tear through the village leaving it, and the lives of villagers, in tatters.

The impact of the storm will affect characters for a long time, and lives will never be the same again.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, actor Mark told Richard Arnold that he was somewhat involved, as he teased what was ahead.

Asked if he had filmed any stunt scenes he replied "maybe" as he confessed he was excited for fans to see the episodes. He spilled: "These milestones are extraordinary but this one, obviously the 50th is a gigantic milestone.

"I've read the scripts and I've seen some of the filming already and it is overwhelmingly exciting. Honestly the audience are in for a treat. So much happens, it is so dramatic and it's wonderful. Obviously I am a bit biased but it’s something special."

Producers Jane Hudson and Kate Brooks spilled to The Mirror and other press that characters face grave peril, as details were confirmed for the first time. Filming is now underway for the series of stunts, as the storm destroys the village and the lives of those living there.

Exact spoilers are being kept under wraps, but it's said everyone will be involved in some way - with Harriet Finch, Nate Robinson, Sam Dingle, Amelia Spencer and Belle Dingle all names thrown into the mix for some of the big scenes. Teasing the scenes ahead, Kate told us: "We're all super excited about the 50th.

"I think, you know, it's a massive privilege to be a part of this big massive celebration. A lot of work and a lot of effort has gone into making sure that what hits the screens is going to be magnificent, and that you guys will enjoy it as much as we've enjoyed making it.

"As part of our big 50th Week, although there's a general month of celebrations, the big 50th week will focus on a massive storm that is going to rip through the village and absolutely leave a massive trail of destruction in its wake. Some of our best loved villagers will be in peril. And it's safe to say that literally the village won't be the same after this, and it will never be the same again, because the impact this storm has on people's lives is just massive.

"So that is our kind of big set piece stunt. Obviously, throughout all of this, we also have stories which will be massive and peaking across the month of October. You know, Jane’s touched on it before, but two big kind of central centrepieces are The Woolpack and Home Farm.

"We are keen to make sure that we've covered all the different characters, and that all the families who are in the village are affected and impacted in some way by what happens during the month of October. In terms of filming, it's quite unprecedented in terms of what we're doing at the scale of what we're doing. I think there's elements of the big storm week that I've not seen on a soap before, and it's very exciting/nerve-wracking to be part of that."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
