Emmerdale star says Vinny's happiness is 'short lived' as he teases character return

Emmerdale star Bradley Johnson has revealed that Vinny Dingle's happiness will be 'short-lived' on the ITV soap.

The 23-year-old actor appeared on Wednesday's This Morning alongside his co-stars Mark Charnock and Kevin Mathurin as they spoke to soap expert Sharon Marshall.

The trio were discussing Emmerdale's nominations at this year's British Soap Awards when Sharon asked Bradley about what the future holds for his character Vinny.

"For Vinny, as we know, his happiness is very short lived," soap star Bradley revealed.

He then teased: "I believe we've got a visitor coming to the village which is Sandra, which is Liv's mum, and I believe she causes a bit of a stir so we'll have to wait and see."

Asked how it felt to be nominated for some awards this year, including the Best Onscreen Partnership with actress Isobel Steele, Bradley said: "It feels amazing and again a massive thanks to the producers and writers for writing so amazingly for the pair of them.

"We've just had the wedding and it was a pleasure to shoot and Izzy's great and it's been amazing," he said of Vinny and Liv's romance.

Bradley has played the role of Vinny Dingle since 2019 (ITV)

Sharon then asked: "Was Isobel thrilled when she heard about the partnership?" to which he replied: "Yeah, really good."

"She's amazing to work with and the whole storyline, the ups and downs they've had as a couple, it's been great to play."

Bradley also revealed about why he has a 'Mandy 1' and a 'Mandy 2' in his contacts in his phone.

"Yeah so when I got the part and found out my mum was gonna be called Mandy... my real mum is called Mandy so we have this joke now, we've got Mandy 1 and Mandy 2!" Bradley explained.

"And I probably spend more time with Mandy 2, who is Lisa, than Mandy 1! So I get shouted at by Lisa at work and then get shouted at by Mandy 1 at home!" he joked.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
