Emmerdale star Lisa Riley's dream wedding plans after Mandy Dingle's big day drama

Her much-loved Emmerdale character Mandy Dingle is embroiled in wedding drama after her adopted son Vinny got secretly married to Liv Flaherty.

But away from the dales, actress Lisa Riley says she wants her own big day to be fuss-free.

The Emmerdale favourite hasn't revealed her partner Al's surname and rarely shares pictures of her man.

And the star wants a low-key wedding abroad, reports the Mirror.

She said: “Even though I have been brought up Catholic and my family would want that big traditional wedding, I want very simple and unique.

“Something where you just go away, do it, say your vows. Paint your own picture, your own fairy tale… that’s what I want to do.”

Lisa and Al have been together for seven years and the couple got engaged in 2018.

"Yes I can now confirm the rumours are true....I have got engaged..." Lisa said at the time.

"My soul mate and best mate and love of my life Al is the best thing to have ever happened to me....we have absolutely NO date set for ANY wedding day, just happy together...zero fuss, just firmed our togetherness."

Lisa joined Emmerdale as Mandy, the daughter of Caleb and Vera-Lynn Dingle, in 1995, a role she played until 2001 then reprised in 2019.

Her leopard print-loving character famously fell in love with local vet Paddy Kirk but was paid to marry her cousin Butch.

She was disowned by her family when their affair was discovered.

Back in January Lisa took to Instagram with a rare snap of herself and Al as they went on a romantic day out and last month she shared a picture of the couple watching Manchester United play Leeds.

She previously suggested they would tie the knot last year, telling the Mirror in 2020: 'I wouldn't rule out us getting married next year at all.'

She also discussed how it would be painful to say 'I do' without her mother Cath, who died in Lisa's arms from cancer in 2012, aged 57.
