Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher shocked to discover wife is pregnant with twins

Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher was shocked to discover his wife was pregnant with twins.

The couple shared the exciting news on BBC Breakfast this morning, having previously announced that they were expecting their third child in December.

Kelvin and Liz Marsland have been married since 2015 and already share daughter Marnie and son Milo, the Mirror Online reports.

Announcing the couple's happy news this morning, TV host Sally Nugent said: "You were already quite busy, weren’t you, before you took on a farm, with two young children.

"And you have news to share with us this morning, which is…"

Liz said: "We’re having another two more children!"

As beaming Liz gazed at Kelvin, Sally couldn't help but point out how surprised the expectant dad looked following the joyous public announcement.

The TV star joked: "You look surprised."

In response, Kelvin admitted that he's still rather shocked about discovering that he and Liz are expecting twins.

Kelvin said: "We just recently found out, to add another curveball if you like.

"We don't really do things by halves and then we found out we're having not just one baby, but two."

The excited star went on to add that the news of Liz's pregnancy has come at the perfect time as the couple start work on their dream animal farm.

Kelvin said: "So, we're having twins. It was an absolute eye-opener.

"So, come May, we'll be delivering lambs for the first time. I'm not going to be delivering babies as such but it is going to be a really busy time."

He added: "Yeah, we'll have four children."

Reiterating the couple's fabulous news, BBC Breakfast host Sally said: "Not only have Kelvin and Liz Fletcher just moved to a new life on a farm, but Liz is pregnant with twins. Life comes at you fast."

And it wasn't long before fans flocked to Twitter to congratulate the happy couple.

One viewer said: "Twins for Kelvin and Liz. How adorable."

Another tweeted: "Congrats to Kelvin on soon becoming a dad to four kids. Busy times ahead."

Kelvin, who is best known for his role as Andy Sugden on Emmerdale, left the soap in 2016 to pursue other opportunities.

After his departure from the long-running ITV soap, he was crowned winner of the 2019 series of Strictly Come Dancing alongside professional partner Oti Mabuse.

He is set to return to our screens this year with his family for a new BBC programme Kelvin's Big Farming Adventure.
