Emmerdale star hints Belle Dingle will be disowned by family over Jamie Tate twist

Emmerdale's Belle Dingle has some tough decisions to make in the coming weeks, after the bombshell about her on/off lover Jamie Tate.

Jamie was the hit-and-run driver who almost killed Belle's sister-in-law Moira Dingle recently.

She now knows the truth, but seems to be standing by her man as they reunite.

The problem is she's set to spill the beans to nephew Nate Robinson, who isn't so keen to ditch his loyalties to the family.

With him desperate to tell dad Cain about the crash, and for Jamie to go to the police, the lovers will be forced to act to ensure he stays silent.

Belle and Jamie's relationship hasn't ever exactly been welcomed by the Dingles, so for her to back him over this would no doubt tear the family apart.

But is Belle really going to choose him over her family, and at what cost?

Actress Eden Taylor-Draper who plays her has hinted this could be the case, also tipping chaos to follow.

Speaking to TV Times magazine, Eden teased she could be disowned by the family once secrets come to light.

She said: "This is a big test of where her loyalties lie. You don't go against family, and when you do, you're out!

"And actually, when she moves out of Wishing Well to be with Jamie she says to him, 'They're done with me'.

"I think she has to put her family first at some point. Let's hope she does!"

Viewers will have to stay tuned to find out if the family learn of her betrayal, and of Jamie's crime.

It is soap land after all, so secrets do find a way of being exposed.

On whether her character and Jamie will last, she teased what ongoing events will do to Belle.

She said: "The way he has messed her about – and his wife Andrea, too – I think the odds of them living happily ever after are zero per cent."

Eden went on: "I think it will make her a bit harder. I think it has to.

"She's 21 now and starting to get her wits about her. So I think this will toughen her up a bit and hopefully make her a bit more savvy."

Emmerdale airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm on ITV.
