Emmerdale spoilers for next week: Meena's trial drama, Liam's pain and Manpreet torn apart

Emmerdale will air huge scenes on the ITV soap next week, focussing on the trial of serial killer Meena Jutla.

It's clear she has a plan or two up her sleeve, desperate to get a not guilty verdict and believing she will walk free from her crimes.

She also plans to take down her sister Manpreet Sharma, and others are on her hit list too, ahead of the verdict being revealed at the end of the week.

But will Meena somehow get away with what she has done or, with an exit confirmed, will she finally face justice for the murders of Nadine, Andrea Tate, Ben Tucker and Leanna Cavanagh?

Either way, viewers are in for a treat as it's one hell of a week ahead...

Emmerdale viewers could be in for a shock next week as Meena Jutla appears to convince the jury that she is innocent - despite brutally slaying four people and attempting to murder a handful more.

In spite of all the evidence piling up against her, Meena pled not guilty to the murders of Andrea, Ben and Leanne, much to everyone's dismay.

Next week, her trial will commence and, while everyone is tense, Meena basks in being in the spotlight.

However, he's blindsided when he's accused by the defence of having an affair with Meena and lets his fury get the better of him.

After he lashes out at her in court, he worries that his outburst might have lost him the support of the jury.

Dreading the day ahead, Manpreet gets ready for court and is determined to destroy her sister in court.

But meanwhile in prison, Meena manages to flirt with prison officer Ian against his better instincts. What is she planning?

In court, Manpreet refuses to let her sister rattle her and testifies against her sister in court, but it's tough going as the defence attempts to portray her as a liar after delving into her past.

The doctor is furious after seeing her sister enjoying the spectacle in court.

When Meena takes the stand the next day and plays a meek victim, the jury are enthralled by her performance - but will the nurse be able to get away with murder by fooling the jury?

Emmerdale's Manpreet Sharma will be rocked by a final confession from her killer sister Meena Jutla, that could be worse than any of her recently confirmed crimes.

Actress Rebecca Sarker has revealed that a "close to home" secret of her sister's will have the potential to plague the character forever.

The character is soon dealt a final blow when her sister drops a "horrible" and "horrifying" confession.

Speaking to The Mirror and other press, Manpreet star Rebecca revealed it could change her character for the rest of her life.

She also revealed there was a long road ahead for the character in her recovery, suggesting the latest bombshell might impact this further.

Rebecca said: "Absolutely, it's a long road. It will be a long road to recovery, if at all."

On the final twisted bombshell, she added: "Meena has one more horrible, horrifying confession to make.

"One that of all of the terrible crimes, this might have the potential to plague Manpreet for the rest of her life. I will say it is a crime that is very, very, very close to home."

Al and Belle team up amid showdown

Emmerdale spoilers tease a new alliance, which may come as a surprise to viewers of the ITV soap, as Belle Dingle teams up with Al Chapman.

Despite Al betraying most of her family and being caught up in a feud with her brother Cain Dingle, Belle agrees to go into business with the village schemer next week.

After an attempt to steal Belle's business ideas, believing there was some money to be made from them, Al is soon making an apology as it clearly falls flat.

As Belle continues her plans to launch a company that specialises in relaxing retreats and getaways, she decides to begin her meditation teacher training.

In a surprise turn of events though, Belle agrees to a partnership with Al despite him not seeming to have any money.

She clearly has a change of heart and believes he isn't out to steal her ideas anymore, as she agrees to go into business with him.

Belle establishes some ground rules with him, and he's soon impressed by her savviness.

However, Al's ex Priya Sharma makes it clear she isn't happy with her - but is it because of her deal with Al?

Elsewhere in the village, and Marlon Dingle is relieved as he makes progress as he continues to recover from his stroke.

The shocking events of the trial soon hit the news in the fallout of what goes down in the court room.

Finally, Wendy quizzes Leyla about her whereabouts and is suspicious - so is Leyla hiding something?
