Emmerdale's Zoe Henry shares frustrating 'failure' at home with husband Jeff Hordley

Emmerdale actress Zoe Henry opened up about family life away from the soap as she addressed a frustrating "failure" at home.

Appearing on Lorraine, the ITV soap actress opened up about her current storyline as her character Rhona Goskirk cares for fiancé Marlon Dingle after his stroke. The pair are set to get married tonight in a sweet ceremony that is set to have fans reaching for the tissues.

After host Ranvir Singh pointed out that she was "married to a Dingle in real life", she replied: "Yes I am! He couldn't be less like a Dingle if he tried..." As a photo of the couple in the early days of their relationship aired, she gasped. "Good lord, that's a very old photo!"

"You've got green fingers, the both of you, haven't you?" Ranvir asked. Zoe replied that they had been growing their own fruit and vegetables for 15 years.

"We're getting there," she said. "We're enthusiastic amateurs, I think. We're by no means experts. We had to pull up our cucumbers because for a second year on a run they've failed. We're not particularly good but it's a learning curve!"

Quizzed on whether fans would need their tissues at the ready ahead of tonight's episode, she said: "I think it's going to be very emotional, very tense. It will be heartwarming and it will be fun! It's not just Rhona and Marlon's story tonight, it's lots of other stuff going on. So yeah, watch it. It will be a good hour of entertainment."

Zoe and Jeff have been married since 2003 (GETTY)

Zoe and Jeff first met on the set of Emmerdale, going on to wed in 2003. The couple share daughter Violet and son Stan together and Zoe previously said about sharing parenting duties: "We often do line learning together.

"Obviously we've got two kids, two dogs, we've got an allotment and he's just managing all of that. [Jeff's] about to get busy as I sort of quieten down so we'll swap the baton then."

*Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV
