Emmerdale’s Vanessa Woodfield has been forced to make a big decision about her future in the village as she has been offered an opportunity to go work in Canada.
During Thursday night’s episode of the ITV hit soap Vanessa had a surprise visit from an old veterinary school buddy Ange, who presented her with the opportunity of a lifetime. Ange works for a conservation project on Vancouver Island, where they look after marmots amongst other things, and they are a vet down.
Needing someone to take over their breeding program for the next year, Ange told Vanessa that she would be perfect for the role. Ange told her: “We are a vet down for the year and we are looking for someone to take over our breeding programme and I thought of you straight away.”

In an upcoming episode, which was supposed to air on Friday night but got moved to Sunday because of the FIFA world Cup, Vanessa will finally make her decision on whether she will take the job or not but things turn nasty between her and Rhona.
Vanessa finds out that Rhona has been making a dodgy deal with Kim to buy Jamie's shares in the vets without talking to her and Paddy first. The pair get into a heated argument where Vanessa drops her bombshell news that she wants to take on a new job in Canada.
