Emmerdale star Andy Devine who played Shadrach Dingle has died at the age of 79.
The actor, who was best known for his role on the ITV soap, died in January but his death has only just been announced. Public records confirmed the actor passed away on January 27. His cause of death has not yet been publicly revealed.
Andy played Shadrach on Emmerdale on and off for ten years between 2000 and 2010. His loveable character was killed off in a devastating storyline which saw him suffering from alcohol abuse.

He also made appearances in projects including Russell T Davies' groundbreaking Channel 4 series Queer As Folk. The actor starred as a Draconian Guard in several episodes of the Doctor Who story Frontier in Space too.
Tributes have already started pouring in. Fans took to Twitter to share kind words.
Patrick said: "RIP Andy Devine. Great actor. Emmerdale, Queer As Folk, The Girl From Tomorrow. So much." Another user said: "Sorry to hear that Andy Devine has passed away."
