Emmerdale's Rhona Goskirk had a bit of a shock last week when her ex Gus rocked up unexpectedly.
The character has been played by Zoe Henry, 49, since 2001 and has been gifted with some juicy storylines over the years.
Off-screen, the actress' life is far less dramatic, although Zoe did almost miss out on the role of Rhona - and has starred in a number of rival soaps.
So, as the Emmerdale vet makes a life-changing decision about whether to help her ex and his wife start a family, we take a look at Zoe's life away from the Dales.
Co-star husband
Zoe Henry and Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain Dingle in Emmerdale, got married in 2003.
The couple, who share two kids Violet, 16, and Stan, 12, met in drama school in 1994.
They got hitched two years after Zoe bagged the role of Rhona, with Jeff telling Soaplife in 2011: "We met in drama school. As soon as I saw her I knew she was the girl for me".
Despite living together at their stunning home in Yorkshire, the couple's characters are rarely seen together on screen as they don't have many storylines together.
Jeff said previously: "We don't film at the same time so we can share the childcare."
Almost losing role of Rhona
It's hard to imagine anyone else playing vivacious vet Rhona, but Zoe almost lost out on the role.
Paddy Kirk actor Dominic Brunt's wife Joanne Mitchell nearly bagged the part, but bosses stepped in at the last minute.
Zoë told Inside Soap: "I have an interesting fact for you. The person up against me in the audition [for Rhona] was Dominic’s wife, Joanne Mitchell. But I think because Paddy and Marlon are best mates in the show, they thought that would be weird!"
While Joanne might have missed out on the role of Rhona, but she did have a key part on the show.
The actress appeared in Emmerdale for two stints as Sandra Flaherty, the mother of Liv Flaherty. Joanne has also had bit parts as DC Barnbrough, Midwife Yeo and Susan Davies during the noughties.
Soap rivalry
While Zoe is known best known by Emmerdale fans for playing Rhona, the actress also had a role in another rival soap.
In 1998, she played the fabulously named Log Thwaite, the girlfriend of Geoffrey "Spider" Nugent, in Coronation Street.
Although she only starred in six episodes, eco-warrier Log made Toyah Battersby jealous and ended breaking up with Spider, who is Emily Bishop's nephew.
Zoe later appeared in Corrie in 2007 when she took a break from Emmerdale. This time she played Casey Carswell – who ended up having an affair with soft-centred butcher Ashley Peacock.
The actress also sauntered down south when she appeared in BBC soap EastEnders in 2009 as DC Deanne Cunningham.
Along with her soap roles, Zoe has also starred in some of the UK's biggest TV series including The Bill, A Touch Of Frost, Conviction and Casualty.
