Emmerdale 's Rhona Goskirk is stunned by a bombshell next week on the ITV soap, as spoilers confirm someone from her past arrives with big news.
The person in question drops a confession as they make a plea to Rhona, leaving her with an "impossible choice".
It all kicks off when Rhona's ex-husband Gus arrives in the village, and he leaves her stunned with what he has to say.
While it has been mentioned briefly before that Rhona had an ex asides those she married in the village, viewers have never been introduced to Gus before.
Next week fans will meet the blast from Rhona's past, but it isn't a happy reunion as Gus asks a huge favour which leads to shocking news.
It's clear Gus has a motive for being in the village and for wanting to catch up with his ex after so long.
Later in the week, Gus wastes no time in explaining his situation and what has been going on in his personal life with Rhona left uncomfortable.
While it's not entirely clear what he says, it seems to be about him wanting children and possible struggles or plans to have a family as he makes a huge request to Rhona.
Rhona is left shocked and confused when Gus reveals he wants to use one of their frozen embryos from when they were together.
But Rhona questions this as the embryos were meant to have been destroyed after their split.
Gus soon confesses they were never destroyed, and not only that but he has been in touch with the clinic and has been acting on her behalf.
Rhona is horrified over the news and the fact he has gone behind her back, never mind the fact the embryos were never destroyed like she'd thought.
Rhona feels she’s been left with an impossible choice, but will she agree to Gus using their embryos, or might Gus find himself in trouble after his confession?
