Emmerdale stars Gabrielle and Sebastian Dowling have portrayed Cathy and Heath Hope on the ITV soap for their entire lives.
The non-identical twins first appeared on our screens in 2007 at only a few weeks old and incredibly they have played the roles of Bob and Viv Hope's children ever since and continue to do so today at the age of 14.
The twins on-screen mother Viv Hope, tragically passsed away in a post office fire, and it was touch and go for the twins as well who were also caught up in the disaster, reports The Mirror.
Catherine and Heathcliff were named after they were born in a shed on the moors, the twins had an astonishing nine godparents when they were christened.
Due to only being weeks old when they made their Emmerdale debut, the Huddersfield-born siblings have never known a life away from being soap stars.
The pair were cast to feature from birth, however, due to Sebastian needing to stay in hospital for an extra week, the crew were temporarily forced to use a stand-in.
Their parents heard the soap were looking for newborn twins to star in the soap when mum Louise was pregnant.
Louise, who used to dance professionally and had been an extra, knew what was involved with the casting process.
"You don't get opportunities like this every day and it will be something for them to look back on when they are older," she told the Huddersfield Examiner in February 2007, before their first episode had aired.
"I was a bit dubious at first because I wasn't sure what my husband would think about it. But Emmerdale has been fantastic."
The twins were not on a contract at first so Louise had no idea how long they would remain on the soap for, but vowed to carry on as long as it didn't interfere with their home life.
All their family and friends were very much looking forward to seeing the newborn babies on the telly.
And the staff at Emmerdale worked very carefully with Gabrielle and Sebastian to make sure they were only on set for a short period of time and involved in quick scenes.

The twins were actually very well-behaved babies which made them great child stars, but it did mean show makers had to come up with ways to make them cry on command.
"They sometimes want them to cry, which can be difficult because they don't really cry much unless they're hungry," said Louise.
"By giving them a bottle and taking it away we can get them to cry. But it's only for a few seconds while they film. I'm chilled out about it."
When they were nine-months-old, the twins made their first charity appearance for West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust, which aims to build a children’s hospice and respite centre in Huddersfield.
Their characters have had to deal with a lot over the years, including their mum's tragic death, their dad's numerous affairs and a few different step mums.
The twins now live with Bob's ex-wife Brenda - and viewers got a shock earlier this year when they returned to screens for the first time in months.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many of the soap's younger characters temporarily stopped filming.
They were kept away from the studio because of strict social distancing rules and limits on the amount of people allowed in at one time because they often need to be accompanied by a chaperone.
Emmerdale viewers barely recognised Gabrielle and Sebastian when they finally returned as Heath and Cathy in February this year.
Because the duo looked so grown up, many fans couldn't believe it was the same two actors playing Bob's twins.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: "I honestly had no clue that they were Bob's twins in the cafe. They've grown up so fast!!"
"Those twins are so grown up. Kathy especially," added another, while a third agreed: "So Bob’s kids have appeared practically grown up!"
Their characters also returned with an attitude problem, as they started bullying Brenda's partner Eric.
Cathy blackmailed him into buying her a new phone after he smashed it and they started to torment him.
The twins are currently involved in another major storyline involving their troubled family.
April, who is their dad's granddaughter, has been suffering a traumatic bullying ordeal online and has only told the twins about her torment.
They have encouraged April to keep quiet and not say anything to her dad Marlon Dingle.
This week, Heath has a bad time at football and needs the support of his father, but Bob pays little attention to him before heaping praised on April.
Cathy is the only one to notice her brother is hurt, but will Heath be alright?
*Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV at 7pm with an extra episode on Thursdays at 8pm.
