Emmerdale's Paige Sandhu 'dropped script' when she read Meena's shock ending

Emmerdale star Paige Sandhu, who portrays village serial killer Meena Jutla, has revealed she dropped her script on the floor when she read the shocking end for her on-screen character.

Murderous Meena's crimes finally caught up with her this week as she faces the jury for the murders of Nadine Butler, Leanna Cavanagh, Andrea Tate and Ben Tucker.

She is currently standing trial for her crimes as Paige’s time on the soap is coming to an end and all is about to come to head in tonight's episode.

Emmerdale fans predicted the villain would be killed off as part of a dramatic final act for Meena but that appears not to be the case.

Paige, who appeared on ITV's Lorraine this morning confirmed that there is a huge secret about to be revealed that adds a new dimension to the storyline and even she did not see it coming.

Discussing her impending Emmerdale exit, Paige said: "The script blew me away, as we know this is Meena's finale, I always imagined it would go a certain way but it is so much better than that, it's just so dramatic.

"And there is one thing that is going to come out tonight where I actually dropped my script and was like I can't believe it.

"It's this big big secret that I think the audience will love and will be really exciting and just adds another dimension to Meena and to Meena's sister and just the whole storyline."

Reflecting on her time playing Meena, Paige said: "It's been a delight, I feel like Emmerdale went into my brain, picked my ideal character to play and put her on a page.

"She is just a dream character, she gets to be crazy, wild and then you see moments like last night where she is on the stand and she is an incredible actress, its just been, yeah - a dream come true."

The 25-year-old actress spoke of how proud she is of her on screen character and how playing Meena has helped her grow in confidence.

She said: "I definitely started Emmerdale not feeling super confident in my acting abilities but now after this incredible journey, I am in a place where I know that I can do it."

Speaking of the challenges of filming during court and managing her nerves, Paige added: "The court scenes were intense, you felt like all eyes were on you.

"So normally when you're filming for Emmerdale you're either in the village or in a studio but this time we were at a different location and we had a lot of extras.

"We had all the beautiful people playing the jury, the gallery, the ushers so there was just a lot more people than usual.

"So when we went up on to the stand to do our bit of acting it felt like you were performing for an audience like in a play, I remember mouthing to Rebecca (Manpreet Sharma) saying I'm really nervous and she was like yes I was too but it's fine."

Paige has previously spoken about her close relationship with co-star Rebecca Sarker, who plays her her on-screen sister, Manpreet, and said she will greatly miss her when she leaves the show.

She added: "Yeah me and Rebecca are really close we are constantly whatsapping each other."
