Emmerdale 's Nicky actor Lewis Cope has confirmed there is more to his character yet to be revealed, amid fan theories over his true identity.
The star also hinted viewers were going to learn what his character's true intentions are for girlfriend Gabby Thomas, teasing their could be a reason he's with her.
Viewers have been speculating that the newcomer is hiding something, ever since his arrival in December.
His romance with Gabby has blossomed since then, much to the annoyance of Kim Tate given he is the Home Farm nanny.
Now, actor Lewis has hinted he could have an ulterior motive for being with Gabby, while remaining coy over his true plans.
Speaking ahead of new scenes on the ITV soap, and amid fans speculating he is using Gabby to get Home Farm, the actor spilled on what was ahead.
He said: "Yeah, he seems to have a huge interest in Gabby. He's got his reasons why he wants to be with her which will all come out eventually."
On whether his character was hiding something, he went on: "I think Nicky has got a lot going on, and maybe with it being a soap there is more."
On the fan theories over Nicky having a secret identity, and possibly being linked to another character, he added: "The fan theories have been great.
"It has been nice to see how other people view the situation and the character, and just the madness of what people come up with has been fun."
Fans recently speculated the character was linked to fellow newcomer Caleb Miligan with predictions they are targeting Kim Tate and Home farm.
Other theories included Nicky working for Jamie Tate or Joe Tate in a revenge storyline, with Jamie being the father of Gabby's baby son Thomas.
Fans are convinced the character is up to something and is using Gabby, while the soap has yet to confirm anything.
Bosses did tease in December though that he may have a secret, and not everything may be as it seems.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
