Emmerdale's Michelle Hardwick was joined by her partner Kate Brooks on ITV's Loose Women on Wednesday as the pair revealed the gender of their second child. The coupled joined panellists Christine Lampard, Coleen Nolan, Janet Street-Porter and Denise Welch to talk about their IVF journey.
Michelle, who plays Vanessa Woodfield in the fictional Yorkshire village and her wife Kate, who is a producer for the ITV soap both met on set and got married in 2019. They announced on social media in April 2020 that they were expecting their first child - who they then welcomed in October and named Teddy.
As they both appeared on the latest instalment of Loose Women, Michelle said her second pregnancy "seems to have flown by" and they revealed that they were expecting a baby girl. "Baby number two is a little girl!," Michelle revealed on the daytime chat show and was met with excitement from the panel.
"He's [Teddy] going to have a little sister," She continue: "We didn't know with Teddy. We thought the whole way through that Teddy was a little girl, I don't know why we never had the scan or anything.
Kate then admitted: "I think I googled something and got it wrong... sorry about that!" Michelle, 46, added: "And then I had imagined us with two boys but then a little girl!"
Michelle announced their happy news on Instagram in July sharing a picture of a TV screen which had the words "COMING THIS WINTER... Baby Brooks #2" with their little boy Teddy standing excitedly under the screen. The caption read: "We are super excited about our gorgeous news! I’m 20 weeks today and can almost rest a cup of tea on my bump."
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm and Emmerdale weeknights from 7.30pm, both on ITV and ITV Hub.
