Emmerdale actress Paige Sandhu has revealed viewers will be in the dark where killer Meena Jutla's trial verdict is concerned, amid chaos set to ensue.
The character is believed to finally face justice next week, as she takes to the stand charged with a huge list of crimes.
She recently pled not guilty to the murders of Leanna Cavanagh, Ben Tucker, Nadine and Andrea Tate, putting their loved ones through the torture of a looming trial.
But as she is finally forced to face up to the murders and her other crimes, she will remain convinced she can walk free and convince the jury she is innocent - with her defence barrister trying to paint her as the victim.
Now, actress Paige has teased this could actually happen - while hinting there is a "fitting" end for her villainous character.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, she revealed viewers won't know which way things are going to go until the scenes air, as the jury is set to be torn by what they see - so the verdict could really go either way.
Paige explained: "Meena actually does smash it, she does give the performance of a lifetime. Even with the defence she blows it out of the park. She breaks down in tears, she’s very convincing. There’s no hint of the mask slipping at all.
"Then with the prosecution he does go for her, but to her credit she deals with his attacks better than anyone else. I think she does manage to, in her mind, sway the jury and bat the prosecution away. I think she did a really good performance."
Paige went on: "The things she says are very upsetting… she does it so convincingly, you can see Liam, Leyla, Manpreet and Charles getting upset about this. They wouldn’t be getting as upset if it didn't sound so believable and true.
"I think the way the trial goes and the way it has been shot, the way we have the prosecution and the defence, they are both excellent actors both of them. I think the audience will be on the edges of their seats not knowing what is gonna happen, which way it is gonna go.
"I think there are points where you can see the jury believing people like Manpreet and Liam, but also I think on the other hand you have got points where people are believing Meena."
That said, Paige also confessed Meena has to leave the show one way or another, regardless of what goes down in court.
She explained: "I always thought that Meena’s storyline was going to have to come to an end at some point, because you just can’t let a villain as bad as Meena just carry on.
"There would be no-one left in the village, so her storyline has to come to an end at some point."
Paige also remained coy over how Meena leaves the show and what the court verdict is, but suggested prison would be a "fitting" end despite previously wanting her to be killed by Manpreet Sharma.
Asked if she thought prison would be a good ending, if she was to be sent down, she said: "Yeah, I do actually."
She added of when she found out the actual conclusion: "But when I found out the storyline that they’ve written, I was like 'Ooh this is actually way better than I could have imagined'."
