Emmerdale's Mackenzie 'goes off the rails' as shocking betrayal exposed to Charity

Emmerdale actor Lawrence Robb has revealed what lies ahead for his character Mackenzie Boyd, as his secrets finally spill out in the village.

Mack finds his whole world crashing down next week and in the aftermath, as his wife Charity Dingle discovers what he has been hiding for almost a year on the ITV soap.

The character has been concealing a secret betrayal from her, even marrying her without letting her know the truth about his secret child.

But next week Charity finally finds out the truth in the most brutal way, as a health scare for one character sees Mack let his guard down.

The scenes that follow are explosive as Charity realises what has been right under her nose all this time, and in the fallout Mack will "go off the rails".

For the past nine or so months, Mack has been hiding the fact he cheated on Charity in a fling last summer and that as a result, he is now a father.

Up until now, Charity has remained in the dark about Mack's one-night stand with Chloe Harris last year, and the fact Chloe fell pregnant.

Chloe recently welcomed her baby son, and while Mack has kept this a secret and decided to stay out of his child's life, he remains torn in upcoming scenes.

New spoilers reveal that baby Reuben's scare at the hospital leads to Mack supporting Chloe, and he finally goes to see his poorly baby son.

It's this emotional hospital visit that leads to his secret getting out, while viewers have to tune in to find out how Charity will react to the bombshell.

Speaking to The Mirror and other press, actor Lawrence teased Mack will end up getting up to no good in the aftermath as he struggles with the consequences of his actions.

He told us: "He does go off the rails a little bit. With having this great life he's built and then having to deal with the tragedy of potentially losing his son, he does go off the rails a bit.

"And he will have moments of him getting up to no good again, but how far he goes I don't know. There's definitely stuff coming."

Meanwhile, Emma Atkins teased her character Charity would have "vengeance in her eyes" as she plots revenge against her cheating partner.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
