Emmerdale's Lisa Riley teases Mandy and Paddy reunion could happen after Chas' betrayal

Lisa Riley has teased her character Mandy Dingle may reunite with her ex-Paddy Kirk on Emmerdale.

Paddy ( Dominic Brunt ) is still in the dark about his wife’s Chas’ affair with Al Chapman, though it seems the truth could come out any day now as emotions are heightened after Al’s death.

However, it seems Paddy will be able to turn to his former flame, Mandy for comfort as the duo have remained good friends since their break up.

Lisa gave a hint about this potential on-screen reunion as she teased: “The world needs Mandy and Paddy together, but I can’t tell you anything.

In a new interview Lisa Riley has opened up about the potential of Mandy rekindling her relationship with Paddy in Emmerdale (ITV)

“Me and Dom are the best of friends and have been since we were teenagers, we’re like brother and sister at work," she added to the Daily Star.

“We love working together, that’s all I can say, but we wouldn’t want to do it so quickly, we want to keep the audience guessing because it’s what the audience want.”

Lisa’s comments come as Chas is struggling on the soap to come to terms with Al’s death, all while hiding the truth to her steadfast, loving husband, Paddy.

In last night’s episode, Chas even went to visit Al’s accused killer, her brother Cain, who is currently behind bars to cover for his son Kyle (Huey Quinn) who actually murdered Al.

While Chas asked Cain how he was coping behind bars, it became clear that she wanted to discuss her own grief and fears with someone who knew about the affair.

She revealed to Cain that Kerry had figured out that Al was having an affair and Chloe has her suspicions about the relationship too.

Chas also confessed that she was “so lonely” now that Al had died as she missed his company.

“I’m dying inside and there’s no one else I can talk to,” she said. “I’m so lonely, Cain.”

However, she found no sympathy from Cain who tried to get her to understand how he feels cut off from his wife and children in jail.

It also becomes clear that Cain blames Chas for the entire situation, including his imprisonment, before he warns her not to visit him again.

“If I didn’t think this would kill Paddy I’d tell him exactly what kind of a person you really are,” Cain said. “Don’t come visiting again because you’re as dead to me as our mother.”
