Emmerdale's Kelvin Fletcher welcomes twins as wife shares first adorable photo

The wife of former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher has revealed she has given birth to twins. Liz Fletcher took to Instagram to share the first photo of their babies.

Back in March the loved-up couple, who married in November 2015 and already have daughter Marnie, aged five, and son Milo, three, revealed they were expecting twin boys, saying they felt "so lucky".

"We’ve already got the best of both worlds with Marnie and Milo, so I didn’t mind either way, but finding out we’re having sons is amazing," Kelvin told Hello magazine at the time. "It was the best day of my life. It was a moment of complete disbelief. I’ve never felt joy like it."

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (May 11), mum-of-four Liz shared a snap of four tiny legs wiggling around in little booties, with one wearing mint-green and the other in beige as they laid on a starry blue blanket. "They are here!!" she started the caption of her post. "My heart is filled with so much love and gratitude."

Speaking exclusively to Hello! following their boys' arrival, Kelvin and Liz said: "We are delighted to announce our twin boys have finally arrived. Our hearts are filled with so much love."

And the congratulatory messages have already started to flood in for the expanding family. @treanygram said: "How wonderful! Congratulations to you all!"

Kelvin has since took to the photo sharing platform with the same photo and wrote: "A gift from God. Welcome to the world my little boys," adding the hastag which read: "If you could see my smile."

Liz previously said about their double baby joy: "I felt every single emotion under the sun. First, there’s double the worry. I thought about things like breastfeeding, how is that possible with two? How do you pick up two babies at the same time?

“I felt all of this in the space of 30 seconds. Kelvin was saying it’s a miracle, and I was thinking 'How are we going to do this?' But now we can’t imagine it any other way. We feel so lucky."

And their may be a few challenges ahead as former Andy Sugden actor Kelvin, 38, will be starring in a National Theatre production of Richard Bean's comedy Jack Absolute Flies Again alongside Caroline Quentin in July.

The Strictly Come Dancing winner said: "It’s the biggest box to tick as an actor to perform at the National Theatre. I can’t wait to get on that stage and act in front of people again." Liz added: “It may bring some challenges, doing the play as well as farming and raising a family. It’s all going on."
