Emmerdale's Kelvin Fletcher and Sheridan Smith set to star in dark Channel 5 drama

Fans of Kelvin Fletcher are in for a treat as he will appear on their screens in a brand new drama.

In new psychological thriller The Teacher, Jenna, played by Sheridan Smith, is met with a serious accusation after a night out.

With no memory of what has happened, she sets out to uncover the truth.

Former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher, who played Andy Sugden in the soap from 1996 until 2016, is set to play one of Jenna's colleagues.

He'll also be joined by Ackley Bridge star Sam Bottomley who will be the pupil at the heart of the scandal.

The four-part drama begins on January 31 on Channel 5.

Channel 5 have been quiet about the the show so far, teasing: "With no memory of the night in question, Jenna’s only hope of redemption lies in uncovering the truth about a dark event in her past that returns to haunt her."

As Radio Times writes: "Popular teacher Jenna Garvey is accused of sleeping with her pupil, Kyle (Samuel Bottomley), after a night out.

"Jenna, whose chaotic private life involves regularly blacking out after drinking, has no memory of the night in question.

The four-part drama begins on January 31 on Channel 5. (Channel 5)

"As her life crumbles around her, Jenna is forced to face a dark event of her past in order to find out what really happened."

Strictly winner Kelvin is not just in this Channel 5 show but is also starring on the BBC with his documentary series.

Kelvin's Big Farming Adventure kicked off on January 17 with fans seeing the soap star question whether he'd made the right decision in buying his own farm.

The sight of a sheep's maggot infested hoof seemed too much for the star to bear - asked whether he was going to faint as he attempted to scrape off the blood and maggots, he confessed to the cameras that he hated them.
