Emmerdale's Jeff Hordley ‘worried’ about Cain Dingle’s future on ITV soap

Emmerdale actor Jeff Hordley has admitted that he is "worried" about his character Cain Dingle’s future on the ITV soap.

The star has been on Emmerdale for 22 years and has played a number of huge roles including his current storyline for the soap's 50th anniversary celebration.

Earlier In the month, during the run up to the anniversary special Cain and the rest of the Dingle family said an emotional final goodbye to his mum Faith Dingle.

Faith decided to take her own life after cancer took over her body, however, that caused a divide between him and his sister Chas after she discovered that he and his wife Moira knew about Faith's plan.

Cain Dingle appeared on ITV's Loose Women (ITV)

However, things are about to get a lot worse with the Dingles as Cain is set to find out about Chas's affair with Al Chapman during tonight’s episode of the ITV soap.

Viewers will see an explosive standoff between the pair which will involve Cain having a gun however as the gun goes off it is unclear who it hit.

Ahead of the explosive episode Cain Dingle actor Jeff appeared on ITV’s Loose Woman to speak about the huge storyline.

Trying not to give everything away he said: "I think people can guess something is going to happen but the good news is from here, there's some really good stories. I think when you do stories like this you've got to have the ripple effect afterwards and this causes certain ripples throughout various characters in the village. Whether it's me I can't tell you."

Janet Street Porter then asked the star if he was worried about his character's future following all the deaths that happened during the anniversary from policewoman Harriet being killed in a quad accident and Liv Flaherty being squashed by a caravan.

Speaking about his character's future on the show he said: "I'm worried every year. We're only on a year's contract at a time and there's times of the year when people's contracts are up and everybody gets nervous."
