Emmerdale's Faith Dingle blindsided as Cain leaves the village after accident

Emmerdale's Faith Dingle will be left in shock as Cain Dingle leaves the village next week.

Cain was caught in a car accident recently, when he and Chas decided to follow Al. Their arch enemy had taken Noah's laptop and planned to hand it into the police, after Noah was caught stalking his ex Chloe.

However, Cain and Chas ended up in an accident and Al was forced to put their feud aside and save them, with Cain getting his ankle trapped and ending up with some bad injuries.

Back on the mend now, Cain has decided to head away for a while, leaving mum Faith gutted.

Moira has some bad news for Faith (ITV)

In a clip of scenes airing on Tuesday's episode, Faith is blindsided as Moira reveals Cain has headed to Scotland.

"That's another reason why I wanted to talk to you," she explained to her mother-in-law, "Cain's in Scotland, he's just spending a few weeks with Deb whilst he's being covered at work."

A shocked Faith admitted it would have been nice if she had been told first.

"It was only agreed yesterday, or I'm sure he would have told you himself," Moira said as Faith nodded, clearly disappointed. "I did try and talk him out of it," Moira added, "But I can't say too much without landing you in it, can I?"

Faith has recently been diagnosed with incurable cancer but she has been hesitant to tell her children, despite Moira calling for her to let the two know what had happened with the doctors.

Of the cancer storyline, actress Sally Dexter said: "It's upsetting, but really important as a storyline, because it's more than a storyline for so many people. It matters to people who are going through it as well as people who will go through it. I feel a sense of real responsibility, but also a privilege to be doing this storyline."

Emmerdale Producer, Laura Shaw, added: "Faith's devastating cancer diagnosis will impact not only her life, but all those around her. We know at the very core of the Dingles is a strong sense of family and love, so for them to try and navigate through this heartbreaking time will be incredibly difficult.

"Faith's zest for life with her spicy sense of humour and appetite for fun and adventure means that while there will inevitably be some painful and heart wrenching moments, we will also see life affirming and positive moments of light in the story too. Given the calibre of actor Sally is, I know she will approach the story with great honesty and depth and do it justice and this in turn will raise awareness of such an important issue that affects many people on a daily basis."
