Emmerdale's Diane Sugden was in tears as she headed off to Portugal.
Actress Elizabeth Estensen's final scenes for the ITV soap aired on Friday night as she bowed out of the programme after 22 years.
In scenes aired during tonight's show, Diane was joined by her loved ones as she prepared to get into the taxi and head off to sunnier climes.
Bernice was in tears as she bid her goodbye to Diane, with Diane also crying as she drove away from the Dales.
Meanwhile, in one of her final scenes, Diane sat down with Kim Tate (Claire King) where the pair had some parting words for one another before she left the Dales for good.

"I want to be a proper Grandma, I want what you have. I swear on Millie's life I never touched Andrea so why am I being punished?" Kim told Diane.
Some viewers were thrilled with how the conversation between the pair went.
One fan wrote: "I loved the way Kim was talking to Diane just now! I actually felt sorry for her yesterday, & she's being very self reflective."
But others were convinced Diane was going to "stitch up" Kim as they discussed business together.

"Diane stitching up Kim - love it!!! #Emmerdale," one Twitter user penned.
Elizabeth Estensen confirmed back in September that she would be retiring from Emmerdale after over two decades of playing matriarch Diane Sugden.
Diane has had a number of huge storylines during her time on the show, having undergone treatment for cancer twice as well as being trapped at gun point in a siege. She has also been at the helm as landlady of the Woolpack for seventeen years.
She has suffered heartbreak after being ripped off by her conman lover Charlie, and was stabbed in the dark by Chas Dingle.

But despite her personal woes, Diane has remained a supportive mother, sister, stepmother and grandmother to her fictional family.
On her decision to retire from the show, Elisabeth said: "For the past 22 years I have loved playing Diane Sugden - she’s kind, reliable and fiercely loyal. However, I now feel the time has come to say goodbye.
" Emmerdale will always remain special to me. I’ve been treated with respect and kindness and I’ve had the very best friends and colleagues, both past and present. I’ll miss everyone dearly."

John Whiston, Managing Director of Continuing Drama and Head of ITV in the North, added: "For 22 years, Liz has shone through the screen and into our living rooms as the natural heart and centre of the Sugden family. It's a role she has made so totally her own, bringing compassion, humour and credibility to her portrayal of Diane.
"Whenever she's on screen, as a viewer, you just let out a contented sigh and say to yourself 'The Queen is on her throne and all is well with the world'. And off screen, you don't get to stay in a soap that long unless you are a truly professional actor and really, really lovely person. Liz is both."
