Emmerdale's Danny Miller reveals 'crying stick' soap secret on Celebrity Catchphrase

Emmerdale star Danny Miller has revealed a secret about soap acting during his appearance on an ITV gameshow.

Danny appeared on ITV's Celebrity Catchphrase, hoping to bag £50,000 for his chosen charity. The announcement that Miller would be on the show was made earlier this week.

The soap star and I'm A Celebrity Winner revealed a hidden secret about a so-called 'crying stick' to help him show emotion on the show. When asked by host Stephen Mulhern "You do a lot of crying on the show, what is this crying stick?", Danny jokingly replied that he never needed it.

The crying stick is something that actors can use to stick on their noses, to help them burst into tears during an emotional scene. Danny said: “Well Stephen I never needed to use it, there will be the Emmerdale cast watching this now, saying you liar!”

Miller recently made the announcement about his stint on the celebrity gameshow, after leaving Emmerdale. Danny, 31, left the soap after a brief return for the 50th anniversary, his character Aaron Dingle played a major role.

In a post on Catchphrase's official Instagram, this week's line-up was revealed. The post read: "The secret is out! Look who's playing Celebrity #Catchphrase with Stephen Mulhern this week! It's VIPs Danny Miller, Richard Arnold and Rachel Stevens! Tune in on Saturday at 6PM on STV and ITV1."

Danny stormed ahead, making £1000 and being in the lead by the end of the first part. During the second portion of the show, Danny revealed that prior to being a famous soap face, he worked as a door-to-door salesman.

When host Stephen said: "Now be honest, was that a fluke guess? "Danny replied, "Well I used to be a door-to-door salesman, selling windows and doors," much to the host's shock.
