Emmerdale's Danny Miller praised after Elon Musk joke on Twitter

Emmerdale actor Danny Miller has been praised after making a joke about Elon Musk on Twitter.

Mr Musk, the world's richest man, bought the social media platform for a staggering £38.1bn last month. At the time, Mr Musk tweeted: "The bird is freed, let the good times roll".

He is then reported to have sacked a number of Twitter staff, including some top executives.

In a controversial move, Mr Musk has also since made it so Twitter's "verified" accounts, signified by a white tick against a blue background, can be purchased. Previously, these accounts were for notable figures to stop parody or fake accounts being mistaken for brands or celebrities.

But now the "ticks" can be bought for $8 a month. Many UK celebrities still have their verified accounts, one of these being Danny Miller.

The actor took to Twitter on Thursday to ask why this is the case. He said: "So can someone educate me (again) - with these blue ticks - I’d rather leave Twitter than pay for my blue tick.

"But how do you know when it’s gone or whatever because mine is still there but haven’t paid? Will it eventually go or does Elon just love mehhh?" [sic]

Fans were quick to respond. Harvey said: "Elon must love you, like we all do", while Lydia said: "Clear as mud. Elon would be mad not to love you though [laughing emoji]". Patty said: "DO NOT LEAVE TWITTER", while Lynsey said: "Yours is a legacy blue tick so you're fine".
