Emmerdale's Cain Dingle tells his mother Faith Dingle he wishes she was dead, in cruel scenes next week on the ITV soap.
Amid Faith's hopes to make amends with her son, as their fractured relationship took another knock, he delivers a stinging blow.
It follows the events of the dramatic stunt week on the show, with details remaining under wraps.
What is known is that Faith is hiding a "huge and shocking" secret, according to soap bosses, that will no doubt have repercussions in the aftermath.
Viewers have been predicting what the secret might be, from health fears to a secret son - while full details will finally be confirmed later this week.
In scenes to air after the dramatic week though, it seems Cain and Faith's mother and son relationship is more strained than ever.
Whatever Faith is hiding, it's not clear if by next week her loved ones will know the truth, while she is set to confide all in Cain's wife Moira Dingle.
So perhaps it's the secret that has pushed Cain to the point of wishing his own mother dead, then again it could also be her recent behaviour.
She left Cain horrified when he found out she had slept with his colleague Dan Spencer, while she'd also rejected his requests to look after his kids.
But Faith is hiding something and has been desperate to get to a mystery location, while she was even shown making a cryptic phone call recently.
All will be revealed very soon - and fans will finds out what has riled Cain up so much.
Teasing the scenes ahead, producer Laura Shaw told The Mirror: "Faith [has a] big, huge and shocking secret. That's revealed to Moira - she's the one that she shares that with. There's some really touching scenes in the week with Moira and Faith.
"We'll see some things going on with Faith that she's keeping a secret, but why?"
