Emmerdale's Cain actor Jeff Hordley hints at character's future after horror crash

Emmerdale's Cain Dingle is set to appear in explosive scenes this week.

Jeff Hordley, the actor who plays Cain, appeared on This Morning to talk to Phillip Schofield and Rochelle Humes about what viewers can expect to see in tonight's instalment of the ITV soap. They teased that that bad boy Cain will have his life hanging in the balance after a horror crash.

The soap has been showing flash forwards this week, so viewers already know the crash is expected to happen. However, they don't know if Cain will survive or succumb to his injuries.

Speaking of the car crash, Rochelle said: "We know it doesn't end too well." Jeff replied: "No, there's a wee bit of jeopardy that's involved after the car chase, shall we say.

"I do remember Lucy who plays Chas, when I was driving doing a bit of breaking because we were going too fast. But yeah it was good fun." He later added: "I can't really say too much because I don't want to spoil the episode."

But Phil was determined to figure out the future of the character. He said: "Well let me put it another way, how are the preparations for the big anniversary going?"

Jeff replied: "Brilliant. We as the cast don't really know what's going on. It's being kept close to the chest of the producers. That's in October, 50 years. It's going to be great."

Phil laughed as he thought he had caught the soap star out. He hinted at him being there for the final, meaning the character doesn't die tonight, as he said: "There's no way they're going to kill you." Jeff simply asked: "Why not?" Phil ended the chat by saying: "I'm sure tonight's is going to be an excellent episode which I'm sure you're going to survive."

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
