An episode in series 15 of the BBC One show, Pointless , hosted by Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman aired tonight (Saturday, July 16) and it was a celebrity special, featuring Emmerdale’s Anna Nightingale who revealed on the episode that she went to school with Adele.
Pointing out her education, Alexander pointed out that Anna is a graduate of the London performing arts school, The Brit School. Sharing further her experience whilst studying at the school, Anna, with a very present baby bump, responded: “Yes. It’s an incredible place. Especially when I was there it was the only non-fee paying performing arts school in the whole country.”
Impressed by this, Alexander responded: “Amazing”. Anna continued: “Their whole ethos was, it doesn’t matter kinda your background or your financial circumstances, you can go there.” Detailing further what else the school caters to, Anna said: “They do arts, music, production, drama, dance media, so it’s not just the performing arts either. So yeah, big up to the Brits school”.

Intrigued, Alexander asked: “Were there any surprising people who came out of there and went out of there doing things you weren’t expecting them to do”. Anna replied: “I mean, they’re literally global mega superstars. Adele was like a couple of years around where I was and then Jessie J and Leona Lewis. I mean obviously, they’re people you see in the canteen at that stage, so it’s obviously a really surreal thing now later on in life that they are international, amazing.
Detailing what Adele was like at The Brits school, Anna shared: “Adele has not changed. She’s exactly how she was when we went to school together.”
Other celebrities who took part in the episode included Nitin Ganatra (Masood in EastEnders), and Tristan Gemmil (Robert Preston in Coronation Street). Fans of The Dales will know that Anna Nightingale’s character was killed off in Emmerdale last year after serial killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) murdered her in the soap’s survival week.
