Amy Nuttall is reportedly in talks with BBC bosses about appearing on Strictly Come Dancing later this year after splitting with her husband Andrew Buchan.
The Emmerdale star separated from Andrew, 44, late last year after discovering his affair with his BBC Better co-star Leila Farzad. Andrew is thought to be living with Leila, 39, after leaving Amy, 40, heartbroken during the festive period.
The former Emmerdale star tied the knot with Andrew in 2012, but has been left heartbroken and 'crying everyday' following their split in December. Despite her heartache in recent months, Amy is looking for a "fresh start" and thinks Strictly would be the perfect opportunity.
Amy has reportedly been inspired by Countryfile presenter Helen Skelton's stint on the BBC show last year after she had separated from her husband Richie Myler. Helen, 39, was paired with Strictly pro Gorka Marquez and made it all the way to the final before narrowly losing out to Hamza Yassin.
A source told The Sun: “Amy has been left broken by Andrew’s actions and feels humiliated by the whole ordeal."
They continued: "She wants to move on and not let the messy break-up define her. Strictly would be the perfect way for her to do that and hopefully restore the confidence she is lacking right now.”
This comes after Amy made a startling discovery in the lead-up to exposing Andrew's infidelity. The Downton Abbey actress reportedly learned of her husbands betrayal after she discovered he had been staying in London hotels near to their home.
“He was away a lot, which wasn’t unusual because of the nature of his work, but at one point Amy realised he had been staying in hotels very near to home — and wondered why,” the source told The Sun.
“As time moved on, there were some tell-tale signs that he had become close to Leila — just something in his mannerisms and in their social media posts together. But the final straw was the lingerie — that’s what clinched it.”
