Hit BBC dancing show Strictly Come Dancing still has a few months before it gets underway once again, but one popular celebrity has confirmed they are signed up for the new series. Former Emmerdale star Adam Thomas has said that he is set to go on the show this year and he wants to "experience the Strictly curse".
Adam married his wife Caroline back in 2017 and the pair now have two children they are called Teddy and Elsie-Rose. However 33-year-old Adam now has plans to lift the Glitter Ball at the end of the year.
The actor has shared his excitement ahead of the BBC show in an interview with the Daily Mail. He opened up and said: "Bring it all on I love a bit of glitz and glam. I was going to say something then, but it might get blown out of context… I just want to experience the Strictly curse!"
The "curse" relates to the celebrities who go on the show ending up in relationships or having affairs with their professional dance partners. This is quite often at the expense of their partners at home.
However, it would seem Adam is just joking. The actor often posts about family life on social media, uploading pictures of his beloved wife and children on regular occasions.
Speaking about going on the show, Adam said: "I think they should have cameras behind the scenes; it's a good shout you heard it here first. I'm not the best dancer in the world, I wish.
"Though once I've had a drink, I do believe I'm the best dancer in the world. Sober it is a completely different story.
"I have never won anything in my life so it would be nice but I'm not necessarily competitive. I try to do my best in anything I sign up to but as cheesy and cliché as it sounds it's about the journey and experience you go through.
"Kelvin Fletcher surprised us all… we knew he could dance but not to that extent. We would always go out and have a bit of a dance and he would pull out the Kelvin shuffle but I never knew he had that in his locker.
"I'd have to win it or he'd never let me live it down. Not only that, he won Strictly and now he's at the National Theatre so he's really starting to p*** me off a little bit!"
Despite Adam confirming the news, nothing has been confirmed by the show or the BBC regarding the new series of the show. Strictly Come Dancing returns to screens later in the year.
