Emmerdale romance in store as Mandy Dingle and Liam Cavanagh make bold move

Emmerdale have revealed romance could be ahead for Mandy Dingle and Liam Cavanagh - although not necessarily with each other.

The pair are both newly single, after Paddy Kirk rejected Mandy's suggestion that they get back together, whilst Leyla has moved on with Caleb Miligan and Dr Liam Cavanagh is still very much focusing on bachelor life.

It looks like love might be heading for the Dales, as Mandy decides to sign up for a dating app in the hope she might find a new man, fresh from her heartbreak from Paddy's rejection despite his impending divorce from ex-wife Chas.

Mandy was hopeful she'd get back with Paddy (ITV)

Mandy signs up for the app and quickly tells Vinny of her plan. Hearing what they're up to, Liam is also keen to sign up for the app too and hopes that it might help him find the right person for him.

She's overjoyed when she gets a match, before realising that she can't get over Paddy - despite Vinny urging her to go for it. But will she be persuaded into giving romance a go, or is her heart set on Paddy?

Will the app help find Liam love - or will Paddy want to get back with Mandy? Could the pair make a hot new couple?

Speaking about what's to come, executive producer Jane Hudson revealed: "We've got a more light-hearted story with Liam — our Dr Cavanagh, or should we be saying Dr Love? There's going to be something that I think will take you all by surprise.

Leyla and Liam have split (ITV)

"It starts off as quite a fun story, but at the heart of it, there is something serious, which will come out further down the line. But it's a great story. We'll see Liam and another character in a way we've perhaps not seen them before, so I can't wait for you to watch that."

Lisa Riley - who plays Mandy - previously teased romance could be on the cards for Mandy and Paddy once again.

"They just start talking about day trips they had in Blackpool. It's full nostalgia. And then their song comes on, which is Tina Turner's What's Love Got To Do With It, and Mandy's fighting and fighting. They're locking eyes and Mandy is going, 'No.' Mandy doesn't want to be a doormat again. She's always been a doormat when it comes to relationships and she refuses, because she knows it's not right and I think in the back of her head she can also hear the rest of the family going, 'Mandy, don't do it.'"
