Emmerdale aired a shocking discovery on Friday night, as Leyla Harding learned pal Suzy Merton was hiding something dark - and viewers quickly accused the newcomer of being a killer.
It emerged Suzy used to know Holly Barton, and scenes on Friday night revealed just how they were linked and what happened between them.
Fans had been speculating that maybe Suzy supplied Holly with the drugs that killed her, or maybe she was her dealer before this.
During the latest episode, Suzy was caught off guard during a chat with Moira Dingle about a possible business venture.
The events planner was keen to see if they could use Moira's barns and her field for weddings, but Moira told her that her daughter was buried in said field.
Suzy felt awful, and as Moira left the room Leyla filled her in on the tragic death of Holly Barton, who died from a heroin overdose in 2016.
As she flagged a picture of her to Suzy, she was visibly stunned and it was clear she recognised her.
Suzy soon faked a reason to leave and fled, only to be found by Leyla in the Café as she was browsing Holly's memorial page online.
Leyla soon learned about their link, as Suzy explained her and Holly went way back - with her having no idea she had died six years ago.
It was revealed that her and Holly did do drugs at the time, but she didn't realise Holly was an addict or that she did heroin.
Suzy explained how one night the pair fell out after she asked Holly to get them some drugs, with Suzy's money, only for Holly to buy heroin instead of the cocaine as planned.
But things got more dark after Suzy explained the pair rowed before she told Holly to leave, never speaking to her again.
As she stared at the memorial page, it dawned on Suzy that this was the night that Holly suffered the overdose and died - and that it was the heroin she bought with her money that killed her.
Leyla had asked Suzy for answers, not believing her claims that nothing was going on and Suzy soon told her everything.
She told Leyla: "I took her on for some weddings, my photographer was useless. Holly had a real flair for it, we became mates. I gave her some money to buy drugs."
She then insisted she had no idea she was an addict, and that it wasn't meant for heroin.
Suzy went on: "I was meant to be meeting my dealer to stock up for party night. It was the night before my 30th, but I was stuck at this wedding venue so I sent Holly."
Leyla asked: "You sent her to get heroin?" to which she replied: "No, coke. I said she could have half if she did the handover. I was meant to meet her later and go clubbing.
"How did I know she was gonna use her half to buy a load of smack?
"By the time I found out she'd already scored, I gave her both barrels. She said some really nasty stuff, I'd never seen her like that before.
"I told her to take her low life junkie body back to the gutter where it belonged, that was it. I didn't text, I didn't call, I deleted her number.
"What kind of a mate does that, eh? Just abandons someone."
Suzy vowed to see Moira and tell her the truth to "get the guilt out", but Leyla said she only helped her score one time so it wasn't like she'd killed her.
But then Suzy's face dropped as she noticed the date of Holly's death, and confirmed there was more to the story.
She told Leyla: "Oh no, the 29th of September, the day she died, that's the last day I saw her. I told you it's my birthday, so much for one time in a thousand. The smack that killed her, I gave her the money for it."
Viewers watching the scenes quickly blamed Suzy for Holly's death, and even called her a killer.
