Emmerdale revealed Nicky Miligan's secret on Monday night and the identity of newcomer Ally, in a major new twist.
The character was seen forcing his 'friend' Ally away from the village in a recent episode, as he confronted him over his looming wedding.
Nicky is planning his nuptials with Gabby Thomas, but viewers know the secret son of Caleb Miligan is using Gabby for her money.
He and Caleb are targeting Kim Tate and her fortune, believing it should belong to them as they continue to hide their secret link to the Tates.
But Ally caused trouble for Nicky as his past and his lies came under threat, while viewers were left speculating who he might be.
In the latest episode, amid a row with Caleb, Nicky met up with Ally once more after receiving calls and messages from the mystery character.
It's then that more emerged about their relationship, and a scene in particular confirmed what Nicky had been hiding.
As Ally hinted Gabby wasn't his type, he asked: "What the hell are you playing at? Your wedding is a sham, you know it and I know it."
Nicky told him: "I'm not playing anything," before the pair shared a steamy kiss as the episode came to an end.
The moment revealed Ally was an ex or maybe even a current flame of Nicky's and that was why he was confused over his wedding to Gabby.
Whether Caleb knows about Nicky's secret lover remains to be seen - but will Ally end up spilling the beans to Gabby?
It comes as soap boss Jane Hudson told The Mirror there was more to come from Caleb and Nicky, with more secrets to be revealed.
Teasing more ahead for Caleb, she said: "We have revealed who Nicky is, there is still something else to find out but I'm not going to tell you. Not all the secrets have been revealed yet.
"There is something else we are going to learn and there is going to be someone from Nicky's past who turns up as well and we will be left wondering what this means for Gabby.
"We know they are planning a wedding so is that going to go off? Is it not? Meanwhile, how is Cain going to react when Caleb nearly sends Moira into financial ruin, which is a whole other story that's playing out.
"So when Cain finds out his brother is responsible, how on Earth is it gonna play out when they are trying so hard to have this relationship? Is it all going to be doomed?"
Asked when Kim Tate will find out that Caleb is Frank Tate's son and out for revenge against her, Jane said: "Soon, very, very soon. There is not long to go, it will be after the coronation but before the soap week."
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
