Emmerdale next week: Charity in danger, Laurel heartache and Marlon stroke nightmare

The villagers of Emmerdale are in for a big next week on the soap, as the community reels from Marlon Dingle’s shock health battle and grieving families prepare for Meena Jutla’s trial.

Fan favourite Marlon suffered a stroke in devastating scenes on the ITV soap, which left his daughter April and fiancée Rhona fearing the worst.

Next week on Emmerdale, both he and partner Rhona find it difficult to navigate the world after the incident, with his best friend Paddy also clearly not coping.

Meanwhile, Emmerdale's Charity Dingle might want to watch out next week on the ITV soap, as Moira Dingle takes revenge.

Elsewhere, a tough decision looms for Emmerdale’s Laurel Thomas as she faces further heartache in her relationship with Jai Sharma.

Marlon struggles to form words after stroke

Spoilers have revealed that the Dingles will prepare to send a video to Marlon in hospital, but Paddy is worried he's being fake and ends up recording a strange message to his pal.

In the hospital, Marlon becomes increasingly frustrated as he meets with his speech therapist.

As he struggles to form easy words, Rhona is upset to see how devastated Marlon’s slow progress leaves him.

Rhona tries to push a stubborn Marlon a little too hard and a nurse later takes her aside and gently urges her to put less pressure on him.

Paddy later notices that Rhona is clearly feeling low and promises that he will do better, but is unable to convince Rhona.

She later apologises to Marlon, but he can't bring himself to watch the video from the Dingles, as it becomes another reminder of everything he's lost.
